The Girl in the Clockwork Tower

Over the summer I did Camp Nano along with my friends Christis Christie, and Elle Beaumont. We each focused on a story for a month, and crushed our respective word counts like nobody’s business!

Elle worked on her short story, Hunter’s Truce which will be out in Crescent Sea Publishing’s upcoming anthology.

Christis spent some time on the second installment of her series of short stories The Cortez Chronicles.

And as for me, I worked on a pet project I was calling Persinette that has since been retitled The Girl in the Clockwork Tower.

For those of you who may not know, Nano is intense no matter what month you do it in, and for the month of July my goal was 50,000 words. My total word count wound up over that, but that’s neither here nor there. The point is, I finished The Girl in the Clockwork Tower! Which was a feat unto itself.

Now, I know what you really want to know is what the hecking heck is this book about and why should you read it? First of all, let’s start with the fact that it’s a Steampunk Rapunzel retelling full of adventure, espionage, sky pirates, and daring do!

Here’s an excerpt from the first chapter to give you a taste. (Keep in mind this is a part of the first draft)

This project is currently in editing, I’m hoping to have it querying by the end of the year! But if you want to see more about Persi and other projects I have in the works give me a follow on Instagram.
